下面是我的一些学习笔记[没有个人信息].
结论: 下次(老刘) --- Boston CMG 小组 会, 大家(能够去)一定要去啊!!!!
(Additional incentive: 对面就是Chinatown ---- 你可以提前美餐一吨!)
1. Interview --- about case presentation
a. Prepare 3 mini-cases (cardio, GI, respiratory to cover the most common 3
systems). Shorter is better (<5min). [my understanding, like patient note]
b. Study from Medscape, WebMD, which present many excellent case studies +
explanation.
c. 亲身经历的病例更好.
2. Interview --- about answering questions
Central point: while answer each question, try to connect to the point that
---- you will be an excellent intern.
3. For old CMG ---- one key point is to convince PD & program that you are/
will be competent for the CLINICAL work.
Thus, important to demonstrate that you keep your clinical knowledge/skill
UPDATED by all sort of ways … ob, externship..., attend Grand Rounds…read
NEJM…..
4. How to find Ob --- Key: “We have NOTHING to lose” ----- 引述刘医生.
a. In addition to common places (teaching/community hospitals…), try free
clinic and clinics for underserved.
There are quite a few these clinics at cities.
b. 可以直接找大老板,大牛. Be polite, find the right moment. And most
importantly, don’t be afraid of being rejected.
c. If little opportunity to shine in ob b/c extremely limited interaction
with the attending, try to shadow an attending in clinic (门诊, 而不是病房). | S******9
