怎样拿更多的IV
经济条件允许，尽可能多申请
申请要尽早
申请多少个specialty：持保留意见，理论上不同specialty应该不同的package，
general package比较不好
LOR: 非常重要，至少3封，最好有2封在specialty里，美国医生，不能有任何negative
comment，well known (program director, chairman), 了解自己的人
USMLE score：非常重要
OB/externship：有机会做，但不是非常必须，有进入program的人没有做过OB的
Publication：非academic program不强调
PS: 第一段写好，不要有语法错误
Phone interview: 要注意，是初筛过程；不轻易接，收到留言，反复研究准备好后回

通过推荐人拿IV
Directly contact PD, famous faculty, chief resident
方式：email, mail(formal), cover letter 写出每个优点，附CV(有针对性)，时间：
program iv invitation已经发出的时候、12-1月（有空闲的slot）
怎样在IV发挥更出色：
Can I work with you?
Reasonable conversation (spoken English-slow), 让别人听清楚，不停练习，eye
contact, 没听懂多问一遍，回答问题简练切题
Adequate clinical skills
Energetic
Good personality, smile
Offer help
Interested in their program: do homework, 问和program相关的问题，ask for pre

和生活阅历有关
Engage in the conversation, not question-answer
Pay attention to small things
Engage with other candidates, introduce yourself

任何问题准备两个版本：Brief, detailed
Listen, answer, ask, and engage

Know program: website, ask resident during dinner or lunch（pre iv dinner,

During IV:

Induction of PD: listen carefully (ask questions about PD)

Tour: show your interest, do not be too eager
Join morning report, conferences, be modest
Lunch: Clean up
