发帖数: 16 | 2 Thanks for inquiry. These are what you will do:
1. preview slides with residents/fellows and then review/sign out these
cases with attendings. 2. observe grossing. 3. attend pathology lectures. 4.
actively participate in pathology research, publish papers and attend
international pathology conference (USCAP). although an abstract is not a
big deal for a bench scientist at all, a 1st author USCAP abstract will
significantly enhance your residency candidacy (much better than 250 in
USMLE Steps 1 and 2). These are exactly what you will do as a pathology
resident, fellow, or academic pathologist except that you will NOT have any
clinical responsibility/liability.
Good for all path residency candidates but ideal for those who want to match
path residency in USA in 2015 and practicing pathologist from China. no
specific timeframe (ideally, for path residency candidates, 1 month or
longer; for visiting practicing pathologists, 3 months or longer). no
benchwork.
Requirements:
No specific requirement. During first 3 months (or 6 months)of pathology
residency, it is not uncommon for us to make mistakes due to little path
exposure. Although you are not expected to become a great diagnostic
pathologist after this observation, you are expected to be as well-prepared
for PGY1 as AMG candidates in path fundamentals. therefore you are expected
to be motivated and dedicated.
