also take a look. For example, our program will down load all applications
in 2-3 weeks, and screen the candidates, and select the interview candidates
, most of candidates are from the first 3 weeks, but the program also
reserves some interview slots for very strong candidates,even they apply in
January.
You can apply as many specialties as you like, there are some residents in
our program transferred to other specialties and other specialty residents
transferred to our program too. it is not easy to apply several specialties
at the same time as you need to do your best for each specialty you applied.
Usually it is harder to enter internal medicine then to enter Psychiatry,
but I saw two ladies who applied psychiatry, pediatrics and internal
medicine the past 3-4 years, could not enter psychiatry but accepted by
internal medicine in 2013. my suggestion is do what you like most by your
heart and you will have more chances in there.

Hi, hopkins2010, how are you? I graduated in 2010 with a degree of
Psychiatry. I love Psych but my experience is full of Internal Medicine
observership in the United States, because my connection here only could
provide it. I apply for Psych this year and am worried about my experience
in Internal Medicine will make programs think I treat Psych as a backup. I'
m trying to make up to it by applying observership in NYPI(Columbia Univ,
extremely expensive, $2000/mo). Can you give me some pieces of advice?

an interview. There are several programs in New York and Washington DC
provide free
observation (externship), search the websites you will find it.
