68 yof no risk factors sitting in the dinner suddenly had nauseated and
slurred speech. OSH Exam also showed aphasia and ataxia.
OSH called air lift and sent her in for possible thrombectomy.
Impossible for stroke when she was seen by us.

Sudden = acute
Nauseated and slurred speech==sound like neurology symptoms
aphasia and ataxia==If correct, these are positive neuro signs.
If she was normal when you saw her, I would guess (1)TIA? (2) Seizure?.
Suppose she didn't have speech problem before this episode.

aphasia is from ischemia of left middle cerebral artery. Ataxia, nausea and sluured speech are from basilar artery.
To put them togather, only migraine makes sense to me.
Food poisoning is another possibility but i doubt it.. |
