222 | 2 W2--as employee, you will have salary and the benefits (paid holiday,
medical insurances, paid vacations, unemployment insurance, group provides
you with liability insurance; whatever in your offer agreement). Group will
withhold your taxs and you claim your tax return.
1099--as independent contractor, you don't have any benefets. the group does
not withhold your tax and you will have all the money in your pocket either
monthly or bi-weekly. you will claim tax return as well to determine
whether need to pay or get some back.
your own business entity has to be medical practice related. you can claim
some expenses. it really depends on what your Group will reimburse you or
not. in general, gasoline, travel related, lodging, uniforms, whatever you
would like to deduct as your business expense. may or may not be beneficial
in your case.
it is not that complicated if you have done your own tax return.
or consult your tax attorney or accountant. | w***0 发帖数: 222 | 3 forgot to mention, if you are targeting as futrue "partnership", independent
contractor is not the option. Independent contractor really is a "temp". | b*****m 发帖数: 438 | 4 Thanks a lot.
What do you mean by lodging (for own business entity) ? Rent for an
apartment is included?
will
does
either

1099---independent contractor----Your group either contracts with you as
individual person or your company. Can not be both. You can not use your
personal name to do the contract and use your business entity for expense
deduction. If you do plan to do your business entity expense deduction, your
company is the independent contractor with the group. You are the person
under your company. The paycheck and 1099 are to your company, not you.
The other way do independent contractor is using your own name. by this,
1099 is to your name. You may still use your company for expense deductions
for tax purposes. Depending how you set up your company, this may also work.
You need to discuss this with your group to see what they would like to pay
to, under your name or under your entity.
Anything related to your entity-----any expenses which might be used as
business expenses are suitable for tax return claims. You will need to
discuss this with your accountant or read some Tax return instructions.
For what exactly I mean by "lodging", there is Dictionary.com definition...
if your apartment rental is used for your entity, yes, you can claim for
deduction. this is typical tax return.
I am not Tax person, you really should check out IRS website or review with
your accountant. |
