My comment:
(a) claudication (n; Latin claudicare to limp)
(b) Back in Taiwan I once saw a elderly man who complained about leg pains
when walking a short distance, and who was diagnosed with this going to get
surgery. I was incredulous. Looking back the diagnosis was correct.
(c) Paragraph 3 does not explain why patients with peripheral artery disease
has a higher risk of heart attack or stroke. The reason is the underlying
atherosclerosis. See "Complications" in
peripheral artery disease (PAD). Mayo Clinic, undated.
