2. other factors to consider in making the decision: 1) the patient: age? is
s/he familiar with the American system? does s/he feel comfortable
interacting with American health providers, expressing him/herself clearly
and without reservation? 2) where can s/he get sufficient psychological
support, not only from family but also from friends, here or in China? 3)
where can s/he get sufficient general cultural support, such as wanting to
have certain food or go see certain places, here or in China? fulfillment of
such desires is important when a person is vulnerable.
