家有老人患糖尿病（2型）， 吃西药可以很快降下来，但是老人家认为西药有副作用，
会伤及其他脏器一直抵触西药。
现在在服用中药药丸，每次都要8-10粒，但是没有太大效果，血糖经常达到9.0，加量
也不管用，但老人家一直以身体没有不适为由不肯服用西药。
不知道西药的副作用是不是真有那么大？北美有什么好的糖尿病药物可以推荐? 我给老
人买过蜂胶之类的保健品，但不能起到治疗的作用。
还望本版的达人们能指点迷津，本人不胜感激. 如果有治疗糖尿病有效的方法，急切期

An effective treatment for type 2 diabetes is a combination of 西药,
exercise, and starch/sugar intake control. In some cases, insulin might be
needed.
If s/he does not believe 西药, there is no easy way to treat it. They can
live in the way whatever they believe. But some secondary diseases are
slowly developing, all of them maybe very serious and eventually may take

He is 65-year old, he did well in exercise and diet control, do you have any
medicine to recommend?
