1~5 & 7: if you say China's GDP was much greater than B.K.'s, I admit that

B.K. already finished the Industry Revolution while China even did not
start it. China did not have a formal firearm industry until 1861. Please

About 6. But US defeated UK several times on land. France did not send
soldiers to assist US. What France had was navy that did not fight a sea
battle during the American Revolution.
My key point, with regard to your original posting, is start the premises of
argument from the fact China is No. 1 in manufacturing--not if.

you better find out what was the GDP then for the 13 US and what $2.4B meant
then.
US just picked the right time to declare independence.
the Statue came from France for good reasons.
u sure taiwan will have that kind of backup?
not to mention the relative the area involved in the war.
back then, how long it took to travel from boston to NYC?

| S*********4 发帖数: 5125 | 7 Frankly speaking, I think you missed my points. My orginal post did not
specifically talk about the Manufacturing but the total GDP.
There are mainly two points.
1, Since nearly 50% of China's total GDP is from industry, as China
surpasses U.S. on total GDP in the future, China's industry will be as 2.5 times large as U.S.'s is
2, as this moment comes, China will gain the ability to significantly change
the current global game rule, if not dominate, because the industry determines how much milit | c**i 发帖数: 6973 | 8 (1) You wrote, "My orginal post did not specifically talk about the

I knew. But I thought your original posting, dealing with "industry" rather
than "manufacturing," missed the point. The former includes construction,
which is not , can not be, exported.
(2) You also wrote, "Since nearly 50% of China's total GDP is from industry.
" Now that infrastructure investment in China accounts for more than 60% of
GDP each year, "industry" MUST be greater than 60% simply | c**i 发帖数: 6973 | 9 I tried hard before, and at your urging, I tried again just now. The report
"The cost of major U.S. wars" by Congressional Research Service (CRS) in
late July 2010, was not released into public domain. After all, the Service
serves the Congress.
The $2.4 billion is 2010 dollars, not 1776. The NY Times report did not
include war cost to GDP ration for American Revolution, presumably because
the CRS report did not have that, either. I thought there were two reasons:
(a) there was no federal govern
