Grow up
Your headline lamenting that the Games' opening ceremony went off without a
hitch, indicates that you were disappointed there was no flaw to splash
across the front page. One, out of thousands of officials, gets dengue fever
, and it is page one news. The CBC showed,in its entirety,Prince Charles
reading the Queen's message, but as the Indian President walked to the
podium they moved on to something else, as if her words were not worthy of
Canadians' ears. If the Canadian media thinks that such prejudice and covert
racist attitides go unnoticed, they better wake up and face reality---Asians
are not stupid !

Stop being mean to Beijing and Delhi
In the interests of fair journalism, the Canadian press owes it to their
readers to be less prejudiced about other countries. Slanted media coverage
does not promote freedom and is not democratic. Grow up Canada and truly
embrace a multi-cultural world.

I have to apologize....
I made an insensitive comment the other day about rounding up the snakes and
making a meal. I couldn't figure out why I had so many "disagree" numbers..
..then, it hit me like a train, after of course, I'd made the comment in
jest. Shiva is seen by some as a supreme god in some faiths of hinduism. My
apologies....I meant no offence and apologize.

Congratulations Delhi
Excellent show I must call it world class. Our canadian media has given too
much negative publicity to delhi games that a common citizen here started to
speculate wether games will be a success or not. I hope our media share
some good positive things about India with its readers. Thanks at least for
including opening ceremoney on the front page.

India is so proud of this little thing -- 60 years is absolutely not a short
way to go. But be careful when you cheer in the stadium, if you dance or
stamp to hard the roof may collapse.

Seek And Ye Shall Find
After hearing so many negative comments, it is clear that all is in
readiness for a great Commonwealth Games. When this extravaganza is ended,
we will sing the praises of the Indian nation.

What an amazing opening for these Games
Watched the opening ceremonies of these games and was pretty impressed
indeed. Plenty of very colourful costumes and the choreography was terrific.
Congratulations to Delhi for putting on such a spectacular show. Good luck
for the remainder of the games.....great start!

Fabulous Ceremony India!
After all the corruption and mismanagement, India turned the games around in
just ONE week, with the sheer force of determination against the
predications of all pundits. The opening games were unique in content,
colourful and easy going-not like the Chinese version where they were
ordered to do it this way or else-and we could see the quality of the show
was outstanding. Good Job India. Just do in with a bit of time to spare the
next time around, can you. Overall, an A .
They are getting there.
Now I see why there was so much negetivity. HAMILTON (ON) lost the bid to
INDIA..OHHHHH. Now India will learn how to host big events and stay ahead of
schedule also India should give these kind of projects to private sector
like GMR developers, RELIANCE etc. BUT now there are positive remarks from
everywhere...so it should go good. good luck canada and india and all others
.may the best win

"Canadian press has been griping since the word go. The Facilities are all
world class as testified by athletes of all countries to their media........
.." Seriously, even the Canadians have said that the media may have
glorified the bad conditions.... CBC clearly showed a Canadian athlete (can'
t remember his name) say this HAS BEEN THE BEST ACCOMMODATION he has lived
ever

Ranting Canadian Press tried to do a Beijing on New Delhi
Canadian superciliousness stems from poor self esteem, jealousy, hatred and
pure ignorance. Tonight we remember the athlete who died during the
Vancouver games for no fault of his own.
