yesterday. Apparently, Beijing wants to ease the N-S korea tension
dramatically before President Hu's state visit to US scheduled in the next
January.
For this purpose, Beijing has to compromise on various issues (e.g., RMB
value, release dissidents, etc. ) in order to make the xis-party talks
happen and make Hu's visit smooth. Such compromise has already occurred,
because China does not blame or show anger on South Korean-US military
exercises in yesterday's press conference.
Beijing has to pay a lot for Hu's 面子. |
