STORY PITCH
I’m writing a story about the bullying of Asian-American adolescents In
Philadelphia, Asian American students were regularly targeted with violence
and harassment in one particular high school. On one day, 26 Asian American
students were sent to the emergency room from being victims of various
assaults throughout the day. To demonstrate that bullying of Asian Americans
isn’t just limited to Philadelphia, I’m looking for other Asian-Americans
around the country who were bullied because of their race. Bullying
includes name-calling, verbal taunting, physical assaults, exclusion from a
peer group, spreading rumors and cyber bullying. Do you know anyone who
would be willing to be interviewed for the article? Feel free to send this
out to anyone who might be interested.
