I thikn this guy is just trying to follow in the footsteps of Ai Wei Wei (
and I bet this guy can paint about as well too): Come to the USA, bash China
, make a mint, and then pretend that he was just speaking "from the heart"
while hiding the fact that he's really all about speaking from the wallet.

Seriously, what other opinion could a professional dissident possibly have?
Aside from sitting around bashing the government (and we got plenty of that
right here), what else did he do over there? Why don't these articles give
us a better background on this? Is he just some snooty intellectual that
wants to point out how much "better" things would be if everybody just did
things "his way"? If he is, then we arent doing ourselves any favors by
taking him off China's hands.

The person is not known in China at all. He does not have Chinese people's
support. The problem is that the Western media only reports radical views
like this which is far far away from the Chinese majority views. The view of
Yu is partially created by his inability in English - a form of ignorance.
Any smart Chinese can learn English by normal Education. Only the dumb fail,
and Yu still could not speak English, even after that many years of
education. This says a lot about the capability of this person. The West has
no respect to Chinese people. The alleged Chinese dissident would not be
allowed to change his views in the US. If he changes, he will see what is
going to be done onto him.

Does China want a bigger piece of the pie? Hey, no doubt. Everybody does and
anyone telling you otherwise is pretty much yanking your chain. Do I trust
the Chinese government? No, but I don't trust ANY government. Ours is just
as ambitious, and greedy and we play the same damned games. Still, I gotta
question this one. If this guy is a known dissident then how does he get any
knowledge about the inner workings of China's government? Was he a former
party official?
Look, I lived long enough to say that I don't agree with any kind of
government. What he tells us is probably true but not any more than it would
be about us. Just remember folks : don't buy into anything that people just
tell you. I gotta wonder about his motives as much as I gotta wonder about
Beijing's and DC's. Whatever games everybody is playing, normal guys always
end up picking up the tab. I'm getting kind of sick of it. |
