A quantitative study could be conducted on the issue of gun control and mass
shootings.
比如数据分析拥有枪支者的性别，收入，肤色，职业，地域分布等。问卷调查为什么他
们反对枪支管制？
Statistical analysis could be conducted with regards to the demographic data
of pro-gun people, such as their gender, annual income, race, profession,
and location...etc. A questionnaire could be administered to collect these
data plus the answers to the question why they are against gun control.
How many innocent people were killed in mass shootings in the last decade
because the gunmen had access to guns? B. How many innocent people were
killed in the last decade because they did not have a gun to defend
themselves ? C. How many people were victims of gun related crimes? It
might be interesting to statistically analyze and compare the numbers of A,B
, and C.
The debate over the issue of gun control can be less of a debate but
more of a power struggle between the pro-gun people, especially the
American Rifle Association, and those against gun ownership. Perhaps gun
control can be implemented gradually starting from long magazine rifles,
before the handguns are dealt with.
