Assuming the satellite transceiver is a Rockwell-Collins HST-2110 (I'm not
sure, but it's my best guess), the unit requires 110V AC power. It's
difficult to imagine that sort of power being available in a fragment of a
wrecked airplane - which suggests that:
- IF the plane carried this transceiver and
- IF signals from this unit of this plane were detected hours after the
transponder signal disappeared,
THEN
- the plane did not lose all power (i.e., the transponder was shut off
deliberately) and
- the plane continued to be intact at the time the signals were detected. | h******1
