But the huge uncertainty about where the plane was headed, and why it
apparently continued flying so long without working transponders and other
communication links, has raised theories among investigators that the
aircraft may have been commandeered for reasons that remain unclear to U.S.
authorities.

investigators are actively pursuing the notion that the plane was diverted

1.在马来和越南雷达交界处突然转向，故意在最容易产生混乱时失踪
2.飞机上的监控信息设备全部给关了，肯定是驾驶员在驾驶室里才能关掉
3.失踪后飞了几个小时后，飞机ping卫星的GPS data也给关掉了
看上去是有经验的人干的

这玩意一碰到水就会发信号
The beacons, known as Emergency Locator Transmitters, activate automatically
upon immersion in fresh or salt water, but must remain on the surface for a
distress signal to transmit.
The failure of the beacon to activate could mean that the plane didn't crash
The officials told ABC they believe the plane's data reporting system was
shut down at 1:07 a.m. Saturday, while the transponder transmitting location
and altitude was shut down at 1:21 a.m.
