Why Chinese person could not write a letter like that? Do you know every
Chinese person and are you aware of their English skills? We can speak and
write English, others better than others. I would like to see you people
write Chinese. :) Of course there are a lot of uneducated people in my
country but also a lot of well educated people. I haven´t studied in
university but I had a private tutor and I wanted to learn English and
Spanish. I have at least basic skills in both.

I doubt that if he is
working as a slave laborer he would be writing in English.

Why ever not? It is the educated that are often in trouble with the
government as they can use their education to cause problems with the
Government like the Tienanmen Square incident. After you are caught by the
law, you become a slave laborer to be re-educated.

It impresses me that people post here without actually reading the full
article. Why wouldn't a teacher of English be able to write a tangible
letter in English? According to 'gordon' in Kungsbacka: "Now he is out of
work and unemployable." - Njong has got a job in Dubai now. How could that
be?

This country (the US) is beyond pathetic about not carrying what the human
cost is to buy "logos" or designer items or anything not made in America.
Growing up, it was a point of pride. Now, you can wake up in any city in
this whole country and not know where you are because everything is the same
, store wise. We must stop going after nothing but the buck, turning a blind
eye to the human cost. And we ALSO let people work for slave wages.
Pathetic

I've been teaching English to native speakers of Chinese for almost twenty
years now. I know a lot of Chinese-speakers with advanced degrees from
universities in English-speaking countries who wouldn't be able to produce a
letter like this. Conclusion: haox

100% sure there is something else to it. Even a Chinese scholar would
struggle to write a clean letter in English, forget a factory worker..

I worked in China for 6 years, and not once have I seen a native write in
English such as this guy. These people were all highly educated too...I'm
not sure what to think about this particular case.

I think there's a good chance that taking 2 years to write five letters (
some in French) is more than viable.

The sad part is, that pretty much any other woman wouldn't have given it a
second glance before tossing the letter in the trash. Luckily it was found
by someone with a soul! What puzzles me is that nothing really seems to be
happening to combat this!
