g*q 发帖数: 26623 | 1 A Brooklyn-bound express F train carrying about 1,000 passengers derailed
near the 65th Street station in Woodside, Queens, Friday morning, leaving
four people with "potentially serious" injuries and 15 others with minor
injuries, officials said.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority chairman Thomas F. Prendergast said
that the middle six cars of the eight-car train derailed -- and that the
incident was under investigation.
The FDNY citywide tour commander, Deputy Assistant Chief James Leonard, said
that firefighters, NYPD officers and EMTs all responded to the scene.
He said four of the injuries were "potentially serious," calling them "chest
pains and other emergencies" -- and saying those injured had been taken to
local hospitals.
Others injured were treated at the scene.
Officials said it took about one hour to evacuate the train. Leonard said
there was rail damage in the area.
Prendergast said there was "an expectation" that local service, suspended in
both directions following the 10:24 a.m. derailment, would be back in time
for the evening rush hour.
Dozens of firefighters and paramedics with stretchers converged on Broadway
and 60th Street following the derailment, as some passengers calmly left the
tunnel through a sidewalk exit. Other passengers were treated on stretchers.
Caisha Jean Phillipe, 21, of Hempstead, told The Wall Street Journal that
the train stopped suddenly, and she thought she was about to die.
Another passenger, Gabrielle Hesop, 25, said he and others initially "
thought we crashed into a train, or we thought the train was on fire."
An MTA spokeswoman said passengers from a Manhattan-bound E train affected
by the derailment were evacuated through an emergency tunnel located at 64th
Street.
Two other trains were able to back up and disembark passengers at 71st
Street-Continental Avenue, the MTA said.
Officials said that one train was moved to Queens Plaza, where about 100
passengers were evacuated to the station platform.
As a result of the derailment, there is no E train service between Jamaica
Center-Parsons Archer and Queens Plaza, and no F train service between
Jamaica-179 Street and 21st Street-Queensbridge -- both lines suspended in
both directions.
Forest Hills-bound M trains are terminating at Essex Street, while R train
service has been suspended between 71 Avenue-Forest Hills and Queens Plaza
in both directions. Some northbound R trains are running on the N line from
57 St.-7th Ave. to Queensboro Plaza.
The MTA said that the Long Island Rail Road is cross-honoring subway fares
at Penn Station, Woodside, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens and Jamaica -- and said
all LIRR trains are making local stops in the area.
