It's official – America is now No. 2
Chinese economy overtakes U.S. to become world's largest
Published: 16 hours ago
(Marketwatch) Hang on to your hats, America.
And throw away that big, fat styrofoam finger while you’re about it.
There’s no easy way to say this, so I’ll just say it: We’re no longer No.
1. Today, we’re No. 2. Yes, it’s official. The Chinese economy just
overtook the United States economy to become the largest in the world. For
the first time since Ulysses S. Grant was president, America is not the
leading economic power on the planet.

As you know, China is a grouping of the BRICS (association of five major
emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa)
sequence of letters in a word is determined not only euphony, but also the
fact that the word in English transcription BRICS very similar to the
English word "bricks". Thus, this term is used to denote the group of
countries, due to the growth of which will be largely ensured the future
growth of the world economy.

It is sooo satisfying to see that China has finally gained world's
leadership in the economy. And most satisfying is that it happened not in
the democratic, but in socialistic society. It just proves that there is and
should be different formations is the world and that democracy and market
economy is not the only way to well-being and prosperity. Good job, China!

And to think Obama is at this moment planning more sanctions against Israel.
Any political action against Israel by the U.S. will bring down God's
chastisement on America. Obama needs to stop attacking Israel, or things
will get worse for the U.S..

Hey now! If we're all going to be one great big happy one-world-government,
we can't have the US out in front of everybody else! Gotta knock ol' Lady
Liberty down a peg or thirty, spread all that wealth around to everyone else
! Then we can all be equally miserable.......you know, except for the ones
in charge, who obviously deserve to control the wealth 'cause they're ever-
so-smart and all.........

Congratulations Mr. President your plan is working perfectly. I'm betting we
can slip even further by the end of your term. After Hillary serves her 8
years we should be well on our way to third world status. You must be so
proud.

Please, Muslim Obama is no "President" he is an illegal Occupier.
He is a member of the UN, which is loaded with members who are Muslims
and terrorist and Communists. So it shouldn't shock anyone that we took a
tumble. My question is how much further of a fall have they planned for the
US?

I hope you know my comment is sarcastic. As for what their plan for
us is...It's to bring us all the way down and destroy our way of life. They
want absolute control of the masses and they will probably get it because
people are to stupid to realize what's happening.

anti-American who is regarded as, "president."
I believe he was snuck into Office as they snuck in Obamacare.

And may I remind you - Greed, war, hate, etc happened in the world
without the United States long before we were a nation. The US did not
corner the market on bad behavior
And before you go calling the US despicable nation - remember who is the
first to offer help even to those who hate us when major calamities and
loss of life occur (earthquakes, floods, Tsunamis, etc) the Good Ole US

I would also assume they are not 18 trillion dollars in debt,so we are in
worse shape than being passed as the number 1 economy.

Is the fact that China has 3x the amount of people we do figured in this? I'
m not too worried about it. China is gonna be fucked some day when 400
million people realize they don't want to be toothless, working for nickels
a day and living under communism.

I think it has more to do with those toothless masses getting teeth. They
have a huge economy based mainly in just getting all the people they have
flocking to their cities fixed up with all the consumer crap they can buy.
At some point that demand will slow down and thus their economy with it.
In America today, common sense is an uncommon virtue.

Yes and they will discover paid holidays and paid time off and health
insurance and all the other things American employers offer up. A lot of it
is the fault of WalMart too.. Big Grin
China cheats a lot also and make way too many Chinese. Half their people are
over here living so they can steal our ideas.

Yes, China cheats ... that doesn't mean we should take it up the butt.
Sure they use slave labor, and sure, they steal our intellectual property
via corporate espionage/internet hacking.
But we should be strong enough to fight this, overcome such corruption and
still lead.
But that would require real leadership.
A great economy means you can build a damn good military capacity. Look at
their theft of the F35 (although I', sure that's a set back). Their navy
made significant strides recently and we, well, we've got "sequestration".

This study is Bull Hockey.
"when you measure national economic output in “real” terms of goods and

It presumes that the standard of living in China is equivalent to the US
standard of living. Which is just not true.

It also assumes Chinese economic expansion is both permanent, and occurs at
a consistent rate. Remember when Tokyo was the hottest real estate market in
the world, and the loons were howling from the rooftops that the Japanese
were going to buy all of America?
O and all, I'll stack my chips on the American economy over the PRC's
economy any old day.

The US just needs to adapt to manufacture things that can sustain real
salaries. We started with slave labor and it built this country. We've done
a poor job transitioning it though to remain profitable instead of going
over sees.

No, the numbers don't lie. China passed by Japan and Germany a few years ago
as they have been heading closer to a capitalist economy and it was only a
matter of time before they passed us the way ours has been heading lately.
Besides, don't forget that we are one of the main reasons the Chinese
economy is booming. American made quality widget cost $10, Chinese made
widget cost $9, gee, buy the Chinese widget and drive all these mfg out of
our country.
