纽约州检察院（ the Office of the Attorney General New York）聘请的研究人
员（主要来自 Centre for Biodiversity Genomics at the University of Guelph
and others）对78个植物类保健品样品进行了390个DNA检测试验。这78个保健品分属6
个品牌（Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Garlic, Echinacea, Saw
Palmetto, and Valerian Root ）为GNC, Target, Walgreens and Wal-Mart生产的贴
牌产品。
发现：
1）79%受试样品不含有标称植物成分。
2）Wal-Mart产品表现最差：仅有4%样品含标示的植物成分。其余3家稍好，分别为：
