发帖数: 1823 | 3 A 2-year-old was found alone with his dead mother inside a southwest Houston
apartment Saturday night, according to Houston police, and authorities are
searching for the father.
Investigators are searching for Orlando Garcia, 26, after his common law
wife was found shot to death inside their apartment. Officers say the 19-
year-old mother called her family after fighting with Garcia.
"They had gotten a call from her a few minutes after 9 p.m. and said she was
arguing with her boyfriend and asked the mother to come pick her up,” said
Officer Travis Miller of the Houston Police Department.
The victim's mother and sister arrived just 10 minutes later and found the
mother shot to death in the back bedroom and her young son crying near the
door.
"Fortunately the family arrived soon enough where the boy was not exposed to
that for too long,” said Miller. “We are not sure right now if the boy
actually saw it. He was in a front room near the door. We don’t know if he
went back to the bedroom or not."
KPRC 2 spoke with the victim's godmother but she was too upset to speak on
camera.
Detectives said a gun was found inside the apartment but they aren’t sure
if it was the murder weapon. Garcia was last seen driving a red Chevy
Silverado pickup truck.
