A Temple University physics professor entered a not guilty plea to federal
charges, denying he provided his native China with information on sensitive
U.S. defense technology.
Xiaoxing Xi, the 57-year-old U.S. citizen who resides in Penn Valley, Pa.,
pleaded not guilty in court Friday to four counts of wire fraud, according
to multiple reports.
His attorney, Peter Zeidenberg – a Washington D.C.-based lawyer – said the
government's case against Xi is shaky, NewsworksWHYY reports.
"I find it very hard to imagine that if this was a French company, if these
emails were with a French company, that this would have ever have gotten any
attention from anyone," he said.
Xi is free on $100,000 bail. |
