Lao Sze Chuan in Chinatown was shut down by the city last Friday for, among
other things, a roach infestation. Yuck.
Eater Chicago first reported the story Friday. They've got the full health
department report, but here's the highlight:
"Adulterated food found in kitchen area, found dead cockroaches mixed up
with sugar and corn starch in large bins under prep table....Evidence of
insects infestation found. Over 30 live cockroaches in kitchen crawling
under prep tables and walls."
If that doesn't give you nightmares, what will?
Restaurants fail their health inspections all the time for tiny things (
remember when Alinea failed its inspection for a potato soup that was too
warm?) but serious insect infestations are another thing altogether.
The inspection report notes that the inspection was a result of a customer
complaint. We got curious and checked Yelp - a customer complained of a
roach in their food (and included a picture, ew) on July 10. Perhaps bitter
Ashley A from Rockford called in the authorities? Or someone else found a
bug in their orange chicken.
Also, we checked the city's inspection records (which are open to the public
—search for your favorite restaurants!) and Lao Sze Chuan's Uptown location
failed its inspection as well on Sept. 3. That restaurant group is having a
bad week.
The inspector of the Uptown location cited mouse droppings and bags that had
been chewed open. That location is still open for business, and is
presumably cleaned up. |

发帖数: 9848 | 7 我经历过的最脏的餐馆是DC 8th st SE 劳模经营的Popeye's，大白天老鼠满地跑。
这个餐馆被举报了好多次，每次都是关门整顿几天，再开，再关。
对DC的食品监管单位写下一个大大的“服”字。

老中要被人瞧得起，先从餐馆整顿起。尼玛，有时走进餐馆，特别是后面那个小小的，
过道还堆满杂物的厕所，都恶心得吃不下去饭。

老中爱恶性竞争，使得大家都无法提高档次。
所以老中一旦涌入任何生意，必然毁掉行业利润。
团结互助优化利润提高档次，老中是办不到的。
最后结果是自己赚得不多，却树立大批敌人。
老中对利润优化没兴趣，因为杀价能满足内斗的瘾。
老中的很多困境，源于缺乏智慧，还爱内斗互耗。
