TEHRAN (FNA)- The Yemeni army and Popular Committee units destroyed several
LeClerc-type tanks used by the invading Emirati forces in Yemen in the last
three days with Russian-made Kornet missiles, military sources said.
The military sources told al-Manar that a "major Emirati holocaust" took
place in Karsh and al-Mseimir regions in Southeast province of Lahij.
Another massacre of the UAE tanks occurred in al-Nasr camp in Khor-Maksar
region of Aden city, and on the al-Alam road between Aden and Abyan
provinces in the South, as well as inside Abyan city.
LeClerc is a French-made main battle tank known as AMX-56 LeClerc, and the
UAE is largely dependent on it in attacks on Yemen.
The sources also revealed that losses of the Emirati forces during the last
72 hours were more than 32 armored vehicles, 14 tanks and 23 military
vehicles, in addition to 38 soldiers and 8 officers killed.
"Special operations unit of the army and the committees are working within
units behind the lines of deployment of the Emirati invading forces in the
cities of Aden, Abyan and Lahj," the sources elaborated.
Last week, five UAE soldiers were killed after their military vehicle hit a
landmine on the road between Yemen's Aden and Abyan provinces.
The UAE command center declared the casualties in a statement, explaining
that the military vehicle had hit not one, but several landmine.
The statement did not reveal any further details about the incident.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim al-Andi, an Ansarullah leader, told FNA that the popular
forces and Yemeni army hit the Saudi army base in the border area of Wadi al
-Najran with several Scud missiles.
According to reports, the number of UAE casualties in the Saudi Arabia-Yemen
war is on the increase everyday.
Saudi warplanes continued to bombard several areas across Yemen as the
Persian Gulf Kingdom's air raids have claimed the lives of more than 5,396
civilians in the last 143 days. |
