voicemail.
"Call me ASAP!" he texted. There was no reply.
The next 22 hours were agonizing, as Reyes and his family received
conflicting reports about Kaufman's fate.
Reyes' cell phone rang again Thursday morning. It was another call from a
relative, this time confirming the news he had been dreading.
