Let's take Toronto and New York 2015 tax return into consideration
[New York]:
Federal Income Tax: 180K-400K 33%
State Tax: 8.97%
Municipal Tax: 2.9% - 3.64%
Property Tax: 3%
[Toronto]:
Federal income Tax: Above 130K 29%
Province Tax: 12%
Municipal Tax: None
Property Tax 0.7%
Would you mind doing a simple calculation? If you don't have enough fingers,
