have been able to engage successfully with the globalized economy without
hollowing out their middle classes. They've done it by having highly
progressive tax and social welfare systems, universal healthcare, extensive
national subsidies for families and education, and strong labor unions that
work in concert with private industry and government to at least partially
ensure the welfare of all their citizens. I think I'll start taking Trump
seriously when, in addition to talking about unfair trade agreements, he
starts talking about stuff like this.
But then, if he did, he'd have to become a Democrat. And we already have a

发帖数: 1528 | 4 It doesn't matter that Trump is a beneficiary of globalism. In fact, nothing
he says matters because he will say literally ANYTHING if it gets a rise
out of his xenophobic followers. Anybody who has followed him for years
knows he has no concept of sincerity, integrity or truth. Even for a nascent
politician, his willingness to prevaricate and confabulate is noteworthy.
He is not to be believed or trusted. To repeat the message here: HE WILL SAY
ANYTHING. His words mean nothing. | s**********a
