BOSTON — A 17-year-old Boston University student has been struck and killed
by a commuter train in Boston.
Transit police say the boy's body was found on the MBTA's Worcester/
Framingham line at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday near the Yawkey Way stop. Foul
play is not suspected.
Police say the boy was trespassing on the tracks.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
BU confirmed that the victim was a student at the school, but did not
immediately release his name.
A Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority train was delayed three hours
as a result. Police say it is sometimes necessary to keep possible witnesses
at the scene to ensure a thorough investigation.
