WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Police arrested a man they say confined and
sexually battered a woman Tuesday night.
Police say 28-year-old Cheng Li is a postdoctoral research associate at
Purdue.
According to police, Li and the victim, who is a Purdue undergraduate
international student, were acquainted.
The victim told police she met Li on a chat app and they met outside her
Hilltop apartment building sometime around 8pm Tuesday.
Police say Li followed the victim into her apartment where he confined and
sexually battered her before leaving.
Police located and arrested Li at his West Lafayette home around 4am
Wednesday. |
