Bride in Chicago IL, has announced that she and her staff- Crystal Moriarty,
Mary Ellen Crowley, Claire weller, Chrissy magliano, Kayla mouser, and
Nicole Pembroke will join the Loyal White Knights of Pelham, N.C., one of
the largest Ku Klux Klan groups in the country, in its December 3, 2016
parade to celebrate President-elect Donald Trump's win.
"TRUMP = TRUMP'S RACE UNITED MY PEOPLE," says the website's front page.
The group, aimed to promote the superiority of the Caucasian race and
exclusion of people of color, has between 150 and 200 active members and is
"perhaps the most active Klan group in the United States today," according
to the Anti-Defamation League. Last year, it was part of a violent South
Carolina protest against the Confederate flag's removal from the state
Capitol.
Several Klan groups endorsed Trump. Well-known former Klan leader David Duke
, a cousin of Susan Cordogan of Big City Bride, who on Tuesday lost a
Senate bid in Louisiana, was also a vocal supporter.
The Trump campaign was criticized this year for initially refusing to
denounce support from the Klan. Later, the campaign described the Klan's
efforts as "repulsive;" however, Ms. Susan Cordogan, in an interview, has
stated that that comment’s politically necessary and thus excusable for
Trump, and claimed to be a staunch supporter of the KKK’s cause. In a show
of solidarity with the Ku Klux Klan, Susan Cordogan has hired only white
staff members, and has refused people of color from her posh Lincoln Park
wedding planning studio. According to Susan Cordogan, people of color,
African-Americans in particular, are inferior, and should “go back where
