Really terrible... UAL should have had the overbooking issue sorted out
before anyone boarded. Entering the aircraft and being seated would imply an
agreement between the passenger and the airline that he is cleared to fly.
Shame on UAL for the poor way this was handled. In the future, I will be
taking my business elsewhere. |

I am shocked and appalled that this occurred on a U.S.-based airline in a
city in the United States of America. In my opinion, there is absolutely no
scenario that should allow a passenger to be assaulted and dragged off a
flight for refusing to give up his legally purchased seat on an overbooked
flight —ABSOLUTELY NONE. An airline should not be legally allowed to
randomly choose the name of a paying customer and then have security
employees just drag the passenger off of the airplane because of an
overbooked flight. There is NO EXCUSE for this, and no apology can make up
for what they did to this man. As Americans and as human beings, we must all
stand together in outrage against United Airlines. I intend to boycott them
— and I hope others will join me in this. It could be you or me next if we
don't take a stand now.

If the ticketed passengers had all been seated (as they were), the plane was
full, and United decided they needed to send 4 crew members to Louisville,
United should have booked the crew on another airline, or sent them on a
later flight. If United has such poor planning skills that they can't move
their crew members around without evicting their paid passengers, then I'd
say Delta is looking pretty good right now.

Disgusting. After several years of flying with you I will take my business
elsewhere. I have never seen such lack of respect for a human being / paying
customer in my life. I am disgusted |
