Johnathan Cromwell, 22, was indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-
degree murder and use of a firearm in the death of Jiansheng Chen in the
River Walk neighborhood in January, Commonwealth’s Attorney Nancy Parr said.
According to prosecutors, Cromwell stopped his vehicle directly in front of
Chen’s van, and Chen backed up to leave. Cromwell exited his car and said
“stop” before he fired, prosecutors have said.
Chen was shot five times: four times in the upper left chest and once in the
upper left arm.
At a bond hearing earlier this year, Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney
Lori Galbraith said Cromwell asked a detective about the “grouping” of his
shots.
Cromwell told a detective he yelled at Chen, telling him 10 to 15 times to
“stop” his vehicle, according to portions of a statement read in court
during the preliminary hearing in the case.
Chen shook his head “no” to his commands, Cromwell said, and would have
run him over if he hadn’t fired his gun, according to the statement.
Cromwell’s trial in Circuit Court is set for Sept. 26. |

这个证明一级谋杀的条件是否足够。。。
First-degree murder: any intentional murder that is willful and premeditated
with malice aforethought. Felony murder is typically first-degree.[12]
Second-degree murder: any intentional murder with malice aforethought, but
is not premeditated or planned.[13]
感觉是二级， 为啥按照一级起诉。是不是为了脱罪 |
