Trace Gallagher reported that the president will be able to reach his more
than 42 million followers using a secure phone designed to prevent hacks and
using a "sophisticated network of people and technology."
The president will "tweet whatever he wants," a White House official said on
the matter, and the commander-in-chief has been doing just that.
Chinese President Xi Jinping cracked down further on dissent when he took
power in 2012, jailing bloggers and making it a crime to post anti-
government statements on social media.
All of China's wireless networks are thought to be compromised by state
security systems, Gallagher noted.
Social media sites are blocked for domestic use, but foreigners can access
the sites in China by using a cell phone's roaming function. | m*****n
