Writing in the German daily Handelsblatt, Maas said "Europe should not allow
the US to act over our heads and at our expense. For that reason it’s
essential that we strengthen European autonomy by establishing payment
channels that are independent of the US, creating a European Monetary Fund
and building up an independent Swift system," he wrote, cited by the FT. | b********n

currency arrangements with the US dollar either a small contributor or
locked out completely. Why not trade in national currencies?
With the dollar bubble goes much of American power. American leaders know
that, so their response is going to get increasingly harsh, probably leading
to open violence if all else fails.
The good news is that our leaders will have to start exercising fiscal
prudence, and that alone will save America from a lot of what ails it right
now. Restrict their money, restrict the adventures they go on with everyone'
