perspectives, but then it became so freakishly weird almost like right-wing
science fiction, so I stopped following. |

Being a American Vietnamese that is 1st gen , I have seen and heard how many
of the older Vietnamese in America support Trump became of the propaganda
the Epoch Times has translated into Vietnamese Via Facebook and their free
Vietnamese translated newspaper.
Sadly the reason is many like to read “news” but can’t read English well
so they can grab the free newspapers that is translated to Vietnamese and
and most times the sources isn’t from high end journalism but propaganda
bait.
Of the only “news” you can read is mostly extreme right wing anti-China,
pro-Trump information, of course you’ll end up believing it when there’s
not anything to read.
I really wish The NY Times can provide election related articles in
Vietnamese also as I try to tell my mother she needs to read reputable news
but unfortunately her English understanding is not the best.

Unsolicited, it’s newspaper shows up in my rural Canadian mailbox once a
month.
We quickly understood it to be propagandist, absurd and hateful, and use it
for fire-starter, but we are amazed at its reach.

literature closely. I was shocked to find that it preached separation of
races to the point that it described there're three heavens: one for white
people, one for black, and one for Chinese. Its incessant glorification of
its founder Li convinced me that it is a cult like the Unification Church.
It publishes news stories such as how believing in Li would cure people with
terminal cancers. It employs intimidation tactics to silence criticism.
In addition, I have always questioned where it has gotten its seemingly
limitless funding. It just exploded into the media world with newspapers,
TV stations, and Internet sites literally all over the world. And it
operates with a level of sophistication that needs a lot of money to
maintain. All the while if one examines its religious teaching, it's
laughably shallow and disjointed. Americans should be warned about Falung
Gong as a potentially dangerous extreme right wing cult. |

This is a common pattern of this type of media outlet. Their Chinese
materials are just as bad, filled with fabrications and conspiracy theories.
Many of their commentaries and "analyses" read like fiction. A few years
ago, they were promulgating a theory that Xi was going to arrest Jiang,
their sworn enemy who ordered the FLG persecution. They have also produced
many articles based on Tui Bei Tu - a 7th century book of prophesy,
seemingly equating Xi with a certain character in the book. People should be
critical of China, but do beware of Epoch Times and its affiliates. They
have no respect for the values of democratic and civil societies. As such,
they are insidious and dangerous. |

persecution of its practitioners, however dubious its leader’s claim to
levitation. I still believe that the majority of its practitioners are
peaceful and compassionate who have nothing to do with the political games
being played above; but two ‘encounters’ with the group changed my mind
as to its motives: first, to satisfy my mother’s desire to attend the group
’s music and dance spectacle on China, I went with her, only to find that
it was as overtly and crudely political as China’s own ‘cultural’
productions, and elevated its founder to godlike status; this is without
doubt a cult.
Second, I heard the regular small local group of protesters begin promoting
Trump, which hadn’t been the case before; I decided to try speaking with
one of them to ask her how she could be both anti-Communist and pro-Trump,
given the latter’s own totalitarian and racist treatment of foreigners (
including Chinese) and protesters, the woman, unable to do so started
yelling about Obama’s “failures” instead, Donald’s own animus; she was
trumpeting Trump, and there was no longer any point in having a discussion. |

Lun Gong enjoys vital support here, setting up street stands handing out
sheets of copies of vague bloody photos claiming China removal of organs of
their followers for transplants etc. causing people to fear and hate China.
Why did Taiwan do this? Because in 1895 it was once ceded to Japan after
China was defeated. Under Japanese strong rein and schooling, many Taiwanese
became Japanese and started hating their original motherland China. After
Japan was defeated in 1945, Chinese government recovered Taiwan and
therefore encountered some riots from locals, some of them wealthy because
their friendship with prior rulers. They were able to own radio stations and
printing mills passed down by Japanese, so they dispensed anti-China rumors
and hate speeches easily. Our current female president Tsai came from such
wealthy local family.

all-out Trump supporter who believes that the COVID pandemic is largely a

Being a American Vietnamese that is 1st gen , I have seen and heard how many
of the older Vietnamese in America support Trump became of the propaganda
the Epoch Times has translated into Vietnamese Via Facebook and their free
Vietnamese translated newspaper.
Sadly the reason is many like to read “news” but can’t read English well
so they can grab the free newspapers that is translated to Vietnamese and
and most times the sources isn’t from high end journalism but propaganda
bait.
Of the only “news” you can read is mostly extreme right wing anti-China,
pro-Trump information, of course you’ll end up believing it when there’s
not anything to read.
I really wish The NY Times can provide election related articles in
Vietnamese also as I try to tell my mother she needs to read reputable news
but unfortunately her English understanding is not the best.

Unsolicited, it’s newspaper shows up in my rural Canadian mailbox once a
month.
We quickly understood it to be propagandist, absurd and hateful, and use it
for fire-starter, but we are amazed at its reach.

terminal cancers. It employs intimidation tactics to silence criticism.
In addition, I have always questioned where it has gotten its seemingly
limitless funding. It just exploded into the media world with newspapers,

operates with a level of sophistication that needs a lot of money to
maintain. All the while if one examines its religious teaching, it's
laughably shallow and disjointed. Americans should be warned about Falung

materials are just as bad, filled with fabrications and conspiracy theories.
Many of their commentaries and "analyses" read like fiction. A few years

their sworn enemy who ordered the FLG persecution. They have also produced
many articles based on Tui Bei Tu - a 7th century book of prophesy,
seemingly equating Xi with a certain character in the book. People should be

have no respect for the values of democratic and civil societies. As such,
they are insidious and dangerous. |

yelling about Obama’s “failures” instead, Donald’s own animus; she was

Why did Taiwan do this? Because in 1895 it was once ceded to Japan after
China was defeated. Under Japanese strong rein and schooling, many Taiwanese
became Japanese and started hating their original motherland China. After
Japan was defeated in 1945, Chinese government recovered Taiwan and
therefore encountered some riots from locals, some of them wealthy because
their friendship with prior rulers. They were able to own radio stations and
printing mills passed down by Japanese, so they dispensed anti-China rumors
and hate speeches easily. Our current female president Tsai came from such
wealthy local family.
