The moment I heard that the government intends to retry Anming my mind went
blank, the same thing happened when I first heard about his arrest a year
and a half ago.
I feel outrageous and deeply sad. I am sad for what we have suffered so far,
and it feels like the suffering will go on without an end.
I am outrageous that despite us presenting so much evidence to the court
proving Anming not being a criminal, but a real passionate scientist yet, we
may have to start over because the government doesn’t want to accept the
possibility of being wrong. For an ordinary family, we have to face the huge
toll of a trial once again. While we suffer financially and emotionally,
the government can spend taxpayer’s money, with no regard to how much the
trial will cost and how much damage it can bring to a person and a family.
I am sad, outrageous and do not know why this happened to us. Looking back
at what we have gone through, one thing is clear: we can endure this
hardship only because we know Anming is NOT a criminal. He is innocent. We
still believe that justice, truth, and equality will come.
You all have been our support in the past, for which we are deeply grateful,
and we hope you will continue your support for our fight against this
disgusting injustice.
