z**********8 发帖数: 1 | 1 Japan's former prime minister Shinzo Abe is rumoring that he is backing
Sanae Takaichi, a 60-year-old former minister of internal affairs and
communications, for the party leadership after Toshimitsu Motegi said he
would not seek re-election.
If Mr Motegi succeeds, he would become Japan's first female prime minister
, as the LDP is expected to have a majority in the lower house.
Mr Motegi is the most extreme of several current candidates eyeing the LDP
presidency.
As a male, she denied the Nanjing Massacre and comfort women, falsely called
Japan's invasion of China a "war of self-defense", called the "Self-Defense
Forces" as "national defense forces", and vowed that she would continue to
visit the Yasukuni Shrine after becoming prime minister.
Her candidacy has brought a strong wind to Japanese politics. |
