A former Brookline, Massachusetts, teacher has been charged with 18 counts
of child rape and other charges, according to police.
Brookline police confirmed Tuesday that Larry Chen, a former teacher in
Brookline, has been charged with 18 counts each of aggravated statutory rape
, rape of a child under 16 and indecent assault and battery on a child under
14.
At Chen's arraignment Tuesday, prosecutors alleged that the assault happened
at Heath Elementary School over a period of two years between 2016 and 2018
, starting when the victim was 12.
"The defendant asked the victim to come to his classroom after school, which
she did. While there, the victim reported that the defendant locked the
door behind her, and when the victim sat down in a chair, the defendant
began to touch the victim on her shoulders, her chest and in-between her
legs," Assistant Norfolk County District Attorney Brittany Carney said in
