to MN very soon due to my new job there and asking here abou the driver
license transfering to the MN. my current license is still valid for 2
years.
i am not a citizen nor a green card holder. So, my current license is NON-
RENEWABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
1, what's kind of test do i have to take to get the license of MN? do i need
to take the road test ? i hear that i just need to take the knowledge and
vision test without appointment,then once i pass those two test,i could
apply for license and pay the $24 for the cost of license at the category of
Class D.
2, what's kind of document should i bring when going to the DMV office ?
like the passport ,I-94, Employment Verification Letter, proof of new home
address(lease,bill), visa transfer letter from USCIS . What else ?
3,once i get my new license of MN, then i could go to register my car, with
my new driver license,insurance proof,car's title.

1. 你说的完全正确。只需要机考，不需要路考。考完给你个纸，10多天新驾照寄到。

2. current DL, passport & SSN. 其他的想带就带吧，
3.好像不用换驾照也可以直接换车牌的。理论上好像住过来30或者60天之内就要求换车
牌？？具体时间不记得了。
很多年前换过，细节不大记得了。有不对的请指正。 | n*****m

不过lz如果没有绿卡或者公民的话，应该需要带上能证明合法生命的移民局给的文件

发帖数: 3031 | 5 dmv不是移民局开的，不管司机的身份，带上护照和ssn就没问题了，就是说有事情的时
候能确定车主这个人，和他的身份不相干。
