these two cards are using the new program, only 2 typ or 2% (for dividend it
says at least 2%, not sure if it will be 5%) per dollar after the promotion
period
so at least the forward card is not good
and even if the dividend has 5% afterwards
dividend usually has $150/$200 open bonus offers
the open bonus option is still better, as it is additional to the category 5
%, and does not count towards the annual cap

better go for another forward promotion
as to that dividend, it is confusing to see "at least 2%"
so it is difficult to identify
but still it is no better than regular dividend in terms of cashback

there were some seniors here who did detailed calculation about this kind of
promotion comparisons
that taught us a lot about analyzing the situation
actually, dividend is not that attractive compared to chase freedom
including the cb's real value, annual cap, requirements to redeem, etc.
I keep my dividend only to make sure I have one mastercard for some special
promotions from MasterCard
(and freedom also has mastercard, so...)
