You have to go to the branch with an employee who can speak Chinese. Another
word, the branch will be in a community with a lot of chinese.
I know a branch in Rockville, MD can open a checking account for the parents
who visit their children in US.
HSBC may also has the same service.

However, you had better add him/her as your authorized user of one of your
credit cards. For my BOA visit, somehow, they request two separate ID. While
your passport is one, you need another one, where the AU card will be used.
BTW, don't try to argue the visa is another proof outside of the passport.
It didn't work. I tried.
