No, the Cascade Card is not a Pyramid Scheme. One of the hallmarks of an
illegal Pyramid Scheme is that it promises large profits based on the
recruitment of others to join the program. The money in these schemes is
made by the mere act of recruiting new members. With the Cascade Card, you
are not paid any money simply by recruiting additional cardholders. The only
way you can receive CrowdFunded CashBack is if the cardholders that you
refer make completed non-PIN domestic purchases using their own cards. A
program in which there is no compensation for recruitment would not be a
Pyramid Scheme.
Another indicator of a Pyramid Scheme is an exorbitant registration fee. The
Cascade Card has an initial registration fee of only $6.99 which is well
within the industry standards for prepaid card programs.
