Indians value security over anything else and prefer older/stable companies.
They are more relax. Long GC wait times probably a factor fostering their
desire for long tenures.
Chinese doesn't seem to care much about GC, although their GC queue much
shorter nowadays.
Chinese tend to rush into flashy startups. Uber, Airbnb, Pinterest, Snap has
significantly dominated by Chinese/Asian. Facebook used to be like that.
As a white, I find it much difficult to pass predominant Asians/Indian
panels, although I don't apply Indian shops or desire to work there such as
Netflix, Linkedin, Google Search and Ads.
Once a company skewed to the either side, it's hard to be diversify again.
White dudes will never come back!
Once a company lost its lust, it becomes a target of indian invaders. Asian
ICs and white managers are moving to next big thing. The titles and
management positions are very important for Indians, so they take over the
management first, the rest comes very easily. I've seen entire orgs
Indianized witin six month, all started by hiring one Indian director, he
hired few indian managers and so on.
Indians have a desire to be managers and climb the corp latter. Asians are
more like ICs. It's easier to get into promosing startups as ICs since
manager positions hard to come by. An aspiring Indian may take a manager
position in Netflix rather than joining Snap as IC. For indian's titles are
more important It seems. |
