"What's your deal?" has become a lucrative deal for Stanford.
The much-publicized exchange between Jim Harbaugh and Pete Carroll after
last year's Stanford-USC sparked a wildly successful marketing campaign for
Cardinal athletics.
Following Stanford's lopsided victory, which included a two-point conversion
attempt with a huge lead in the final minutes, a vexed Carroll approached
Harbaugh for the traditional handshake between coaches.
"What's your deal?" Carroll asked.
"What's your deal?" Harbaugh responded.
A few months later -- and with Harbaugh's blessing -- Stanford unveiled the
"What's your deal?" ticket mini-plan: Buy a ticket to the USC game (Saturday
at Stanford Stadium) and two others.
