they can always pick up any blocked
FG and advance it, at their own risks of course, as Iowa just did.
For the kicking team, if it's blocked before LOS, then it's a live ball for
them as they can still pick it up and run
for a first down; if it's blocked beyond LOS, then after the ball stops
completely, it goes to the defense.
BUT, if a defense player touches the ball again before it stops completely,
THEN it's a live ball again and it's
free for all. The most famous instance was the Leon Lett play in the '93 Thanksgiving game.
还有一条可能大家不大熟悉的规则，
是在FG的时候，守方只有在LOS两码以内的队员可以起跳，
而且不能用队友做跳板。
以前看过贴子问在远射的时候，
为何守方不放一个高个子在横梁下面，
跳起来把强弩之末的FG打掉 -- it's illegal.
