Alexis Simpson, a Bowie State University student turned herself into police
after fatally stabbing her roommate, Dominique Frazier, in their apartment
on Sept. 15, according to a Sept. 16 article in The Washington Post.
Classes were cancelled on Friday because of the homicide, The Washington
Post reported. Simpson is being charged with first-degree murder, second-
degree murder and first-degree assault.
Jasmine Harvey, a BSU sophomore, told The Washington Post that the sense of
insecurity at the university was heightened after the event.
“It was really scary, and everyone was locking their doors and asking, ‘
Will you walk with me to the bathroom?’” Harvey said in the Washington
