teams, Stanford is 3rd in rushing defense (Alabama is 1st, LSU is 8th) and
11th in sacks per game (LSU is 13th and Alabama is 22nd).
Stanford's safeties are also pretty good but the CBs are just average. They
also lack depth in the secondary, which causes them to be vulnerable
against spread formations that have 4 or 5 receivers on the field.
In the Fiesta bowl, Stanford held OkSU. to just 13 rushing yards but gave up
399 passing yards.

anything, Stanford's defense is probably under-rated since most of their
opponents were good offensive teams.
