The 2012 SEC Championship Game will be played on December 1, 2012, in the
Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, and determine the 2012 football champion
of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The game will feature the Georgia
Bulldogs and winner of the West division. The Georgia Bulldogs will be the
designated "home team". The game will be televised by CBS Sports for the
twelfth straight season.
As of November 17, 2012, the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, and Texas A&M
Aggies are first, second, and third in the SEC Western Division,
respectively. If Alabama defeats the Auburn Tigers in the annual Iron Bowl,
the Crimson Tide will represent the Western Division in the championship
game. If Auburn defeats Alabama and Texas A&M defeats the Missouri Tigers,
the Tigers of LSU would play in the championship if they defeat the Arkansas
Razorbacks. If both LSU and Alabama lose, Texas A&M would play in the
