As recently as Monday, CBS NFL insider Jason LaCanfora floated O'Brien's
name as a possible target for the Jacksonville Jaguars, should owner Shahid
Khan opt to search for a new head coach in the spring.
In fairness to O'Brien, to Penn State, to Jacksonville and the entire
situation, nobody is talking about something that currently is not a
hypothetical. Here are some facts: O'Brien has a long, lucrative contract
with Penn State; the Jaguars have a coach in the embattled Mike Mularkey,
who has only had one season to work with a roster that nobody considered one
of the best in football; no side has shown public interest in the other, in
